PRS Promo Video!!!!!
We have been working hard at producing our very first promo video. Though there will be several more to come, this is the first installment. The next video will be a tour of the complete facility, so you will be able to see all the upgrades we have been making. If you’ve never seen the studio before, it will give you a concept of what the vibe is like at PRS.
PRS is a Private Production Facility that offers a great recording getaway to it’s clients. We hope this video conveys our message clearly.
All the work was done in-house. Narration by Rex Johnston. Produced, written, edited by Yamio 263. Photography by Rex Johnston, Peter Greene, and others. Music by Yamio 263 feat. Errick Lewis and Dennis J. Dove.

Death of an era. Out with the old, in with the tubes.
It’s a sad day here at Portland Recording. Today we mourn the passing of our tape machine. In keeping with the times and needs of our clients, we are in a constant cycle of out-with-the-old, in with the new. We’ve had this BEAUTIFUL multi-track analog tape machine sitting collecting dust for a couple years. It seems that our clients just weren’t interested in recording to tape anymore. The power and versatility of digital production software seems to have outweighed the desire for superb analog sound quality. Our solution is this, out with the old tape machine, in with the new tubes!!!! We are currently using a Universal Audio LA610 mic pre / compressor as the front end to the digital system, and a beautiful british analog console on the back end of the software, to craft our amazing sound. As powerful as digital is, the beauty that analog can breathe into the music is irrefutable. We are dedicated to providing you with the best of both worlds. Analog recording and mixing equipment coupled with a powerful set of digital production tools. Give us a call today to chat about how we can breathe life into your music too!
Improved Parking
We have moved our mailboxes to accommodate better parking in front of the studio. The post office employs stringent rules regarding parking near mailboxes and this has caused some issues recently. Now the mailboxes have been relocated to a better location for the mail delivery which created a good deal more parking right in
front of the studio. Just another example of our continued efforts to improve the studio in every way.
Recording Studios in Portland Oregon
Of all the recording studios in Portland Oregon, Portland Recording Studio stands out in the crowd. We offer top quality sound and all the amenities you need to be completely comfortable and happy while crafting your masterpiece, at a price that can’t be beat. There are many recording studios in Portland, but none rival our cost to value ratio. One of our clients’ favorite features is our cozy lounge. Plenty of seating, cable television, refreshments, and even board games are provided for your relaxation between takes. We have put a great deal of effort into creating a relaxed environment for your creativity. Many recording studios feel very sterile, almost like a dentists office. Though they deliver on the sound, they lack in comfort and vibe. On the other end of the spectrum, there are studios that you can get for less, but they lack the professionalism of our facility. When you measure the gear against the facility and the cost, Portland Recording Studio comes out on top every time!
Change is in the air….
There are a whole lot of good changes going on right now at Portland Recording Studio in Portland, Oregon. We finished remodeling our isolation booths last year, brought in a new heavy hitting Chief Engineer, hardwired in a patchbay system for easy routing of all of our outboard gear, switched our studio monitors over to the new Mackie HR824MKII’s to compliment our current JBL’s and NS10′s, integrated a Pro Tools system with our Logic Pro infrastructure, and instituted a new plan for constant equipment upgrades and maintenance. All this hard work on our end ensures maximum versatility for our clients, and has positioned us to service any and every need you may have for your project. We have also expanded our range of services to include CD replication and duplication, graphic design, printing services, photography, videography and editing, web design, and more. We’re a 1-stop shop, ready to help you reach your goals as an artist on a budget. Give us a call today, lets chat about what you need for your project and make a detailed plan on how to get it done! Exciting times!
