Rates
- Portland Recording asks for a minimum of 1 week advance notice on studio bookings, and booking of new sessions will be subject to the studio’s availability. Rushed booking is available for an additional fee ($50 for sessions under 4 hours, $100 for over 4 hours), and is also subject to availability.
Studio Rates
(Special Prices Subject To Change Without Notice)
Recording – $50/Hr.
(up to 48 channels simultaneous)
Song Mixing – $50/Hr.
(averages 1-6 hours per song to mix, depending on the number of tracks and the complexity of the piece)
Day Rate – $400 prepaid
(based on 8-10 hours of studio time, and two 1/2 hour breaks, beyond 10 studio hrs/day is $75hr)
Lock Out Rate – $500/Day prepaid
(2 days consecutive minimum – includes engineer – based on 10 hours of studio time per day, and two 1 hour breaks, beyond 10 studio hrs/day is $75hr)
Special Week Rate – $3,000 prepaid
(6 days, Lock Out, – includes engineer – based on 10 hours of studio time per day, and two 15 minute breaks and a 1 hour meal break. Beyond 10 studio hrs/day is an additional $75hr)
Vocal Editing & Pitch Correction (or Autotune Effect) – $50 Hr.
(We also adjust vibrato and timing between tracks. Average of .5-1.5 hours depending on number of tracks)
Multi-track Session Editing and Drum Replacement – $50 Hr.
(average time varies 1-3 hours depending on complexity of session and number of tracks)
Post Production – $50 Hr.

- Hiring and scheduling session musicians (each musician has their own fee, separate from our fee)

Project Co-Production – $50/song
(Co-Producer services only, does not include studio time or engineering.)
In-House Engineer of your album makes suggestions and subjective comments in order for you to make the best recording possible. They will be active in assessing takes and suggesting sounds, arrangements, etc. Usually they will jump into the session cold on the first day, without extensive pre-production. Generally they will be the sole engineer as well. Engineer will provide Project Progress Tracking Sheets.
Vinyl/Cassette to CD - $30 Hr.
Transfer your old vinyl’s and cassette tapes to CD. We can even help clean up the audio and boost the levels of the songs so they play back better than ever!
Digital Mastering – $40 1 song / $35 2-11 songs / $30 12+ songs
(rates per song, not by project. This is for mastering of a single stereo file, not separated tracks.)
Stem Mastering – $70 1 song / $65 2-11 songs / $60 12+ songs
(send us pre-mixed stems of your mixes, and we will master them together using both analog and digital gear. up to 4 stereo pairs per song. (typically drums, instruments, lead vocals, backing vocals )
Final CD Masters – $20

PREMIER RECORDING PACKAGES

ONE DAY DEMO SPECIAL – $600
This package is geared towards bands and singer/songwriters who want to make a demo to send out, give out, and develop material from. We fully isolate up to four instruments and record a full multi-track of your music. Then, we overdub vocals and lead instruments, if needed, and you go home with a 3-song demo and all the masters that same day. We will help you prepare and keep you on track, but time is tight, based on 10 hr day rate plus 2 1-hour breaks with additional time beyond that 10 hrs at $75hr. The band needs to be well-prepared and well-rehearsed. Additional session musicians are available for an additional fee, to be determined by the session player. Package includes a Photo Shoot, copies of all photos, and a 1 page press kit in PDF format.
1 Song Master – $800
Price based on pre-production, one day of studio time, Engineer, Record Producer, 2-3 hired studio musicians, background vocalists, and digital mastering. Package includes a Photo Shoot, and copies of all photos.
You recieve 1 CD master of session,
and 1 CD of Tracks (Full, Radio, Perf, Instr, Acca)
4 Song Master – $3500
Price based on pre-production, three days of studio time, Engineer, Record Producer, 2-3 hired studio musicians, background vocalists, and digital mastering. Package includes a Photo Shoot, copies of all photos, and un-edited in-studio video footage.

10-14 Song Master – $10,500 ($700 each addition song beyond 14)
Price based on pre-production, five days of studio time, Engineer, Record Producer, 2-3 hired studio musicians, background vocalists, and digital mastering. Package includes a Photo Shoot, copies of all photos, and un-edited in-studio video footage.
